 | | | Shootout At Buttonwillow | | Mazda opens the door for Nick Evans to begin his pro racing career | | We’ve seen what it takes to pursue dreams of being a pro racer, and frankly it can be a daunting challenge. As much as people would like to think otherwise, moving up through motorsports is more than a simple meritocracy. | URC Exclusive-Happy Birthday, Z When it comes to enduring performance legacies among the sport compact set, few models match the historical impact of, or inspire as much devotion as, Nissan's Z cars. From the groundbreaking 240Z to today’s 370Z, each was/is known for being an outstanding value, pairing sharp looks with genuine athleticism for a relatively low price point. 10/16/2009 - Full Article

| URC Exclusive-Tokyo Motor Show 2009 Preview The current automaker bonanza of alternative fuel cars and technology will reach a new high later this month when the biennial Tokyo Motor Show opens its doors to the public October 24 through November 4 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City. All of Japan's big OEMs and many of its peripheral players seem to have something to add to the category, which frankly has left us a little indifferent to the expo this time out. Call it a sign of the times that we're not exactly thrilled about. 10/14/2009 - Full Article

| URC Exclusive- Setup For Success One of the strange, cool things about getting invited to test days at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in advance of the Formula DRIFT finale, October 17, is that the entire facility is pretty much deserted, or at least seems that way. The sound of straining motors as they reach for revs and the audible lack of traction, normally set against the roar of a crowd, just echo through an empty grandstand. Tire smoke meanders across lifeless midways and parking lots, completely uncelebrated. 10/13/2009 - Full Article - Event Images

As some may recall with 2008's debut of the Genesis Coupe, the Korean OEM's booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center last year had a trio of the RWD compacts on exhibit built by luminaries like Rhys Millen Racing, Street Concepts, and HKS. 10/8/2009 - Full Article

| URC Exclusive-Mazda Roadster Comes Home A week before SevenStock organizers observed 12 years of its rotary celebration in America, a different subset of Mazda enthusiasts gathered some 8,000 miles away in Hiroshima, Japan, to commemorate another one of the make’s sportier numbers: the MX-5, known in JDM parlance as the Roadster. 10/1/2009 - Full Article

| URC Exclusive-Enter Fiesta Part 2 As we dove into the Fiesta Movement (see Part 1 www.urbanracer.com/articles/anmviewer.asp?a=3943), we met up with a quartet of different Agents and got a chance to talk to each about their cars and personalities. We met four very unique people, but all of them had a common bond through the car. Once each Agent got their Fiesta, some got straight to shooting videos and photos, while others just went about their daily lives. 9/25/2009 - Full Article

| URC Exclusive-No Mercy Editor’s note: It isn’t often that we consort with national champs, but over the last five years or so we’ve been exceedingly fortunate to strike up a relationship with Brian Kono, owner/operator of After Hours Automotive in Wilmington, Calif. Recently, After Hours client Renan Bayar won the National Auto Sport Association’s (NASA) 2009 Honda Challenge H2 championship in an EG chassis Honda Civic hatchback built primarily by Kono. What follows is Bayar’s account of the momentous feat. 9/24/2009 - Full Article
