We have always been fans of one-time prominent sport compact drag racer Gary Gardella and Gardella Racing, his eponymous New Jersey-based team that currently supports Ryan Tuerck and the Mobil 1 Pontiac Solstice in Formula DRIFT. So when we recently got word of a new blog/site he has been working on with good friend Steve Mars, we knew we would at least add the address to our bookmarks and check it out.
Then we heard the brilliant name of Gardella's new online venture and started kicking ourselves for not coming up with it first.
Called DeathMachines.net (seriously, how cool is that?!), the site grew out of Gardella's desire to keep up with all of his motorsports interests, an obsession that up until Death Machines took about three hours out of his day, every day. The expanded web log endeavors to provide daily news about everything from drifting, time attack, drag and road racing, to karting and even some content on traditional hot rods and other subjects. The focus, though, will be grassroots events, projects and cars.
The one-stop motorsports content site is set to go live October 16, and we're guessing will be in the vein of other virtual joints like Speed Hunters and Motor Mavens. Keep checking www.deathmachines.net for its launch - we know we will.
